nure-onna

"wet woman." A creature that has the long body of a snake and the head of a woman. She carries a small, child-like bundle which she used to lure victims. If a person offers to carry the baby, the bundle will become heavier and heavier, preventing the victim from fleeing. Nure-onna will then suck the blood from her victim with her snake-like tongue.

In other stories, she is generally harmless if left alone.
