Ocypete

"Swift-flier." One of the three Harpies, and the fastest among them. She is a daughter of Thaumas and Electra.

The name comes from ὠκὺς, "swift," and πέτομαι, "I fly," and is therefore the one who flies swiftly. Other forms are Ocythoe ("swift-runner") and Ocypode ("swift-footed").
