Petara

A benevolent deity of the Iban Dayak. He is a power of justice, of honesty, and of right. Petara is invoked in illness or closeness to death as a saving power.

In the creation story Petara is the father of Siti Permani, who was cut to pieces, becoming the various food plants. His son is Ini Anda.
