Rangiatea

The abode of Io, situated in the uppermost of the twelve heavens known as Te Rauroha. At that place the highly tapu and mana possessing stones, termed whatu kura were kept, and which were in charge of the attendants of Io. These stones were deposited on the ahurewa, or altar, of that place.
