Rarohenga
The subterranean spirit world where the souls of the dead go, another name for Pō. Hine-tītama descended to Rarohenga and assumed the name of Hine-nui-te-pō. Ue-tonga and his daughter Niwa-reka also dwelt in Rarohenga.
The name Muriwau-hou-ki-Rarohenga seems to apply to the entrance or approach to the underworld, and Tahekeroa, the long descent, is the name of the way by which spirits pass from this world to Rarohenga.
