Valaskjálf

"Shelf of the Slain." A home that the Æsir built for themselves and which is thatched with sheer silver. It is enumerated among the abodes of the gods in Grímnismál:

The third dwelling is,
where the kind powers have
with silver decked the hall;
Valaskjalf 'tis called,
which for himself acquired
the Ás in days of old.

Snorri Sturluson assigns it to Odin, and says that in this hall is the Hliðskjálf, the high-seat of Odin.
