Altis

The sacred precinct of Zeus at Olympia in Elis. It combines the altar of Zeus, the temples of Zeus and Hera, the Pelopion, etc. It was connected to the Stadium, where the public games were held, by an arched passage.

The Altis was about 500 ft by 600 ft.
