Boaz

"Alacrity." A wealthy landowner from Bethlehem, the son of Rahab and Salma, of the family of Elimelech. He befriends and later marries Ruth, a Moabitess, the daughter-in-law of Naomi. Their son is Obed, father of Jesse, and grandfather of David.

Boaz was a kinsman of Mahlon, Ruth's first husband.
