Calliste

During the journey of the Argonauts, the god Triton appeared to them in the form of a young man. He picked up a clod of earth and gave it to them by way of welcome, and Euphemus accepted the gift. The clod later turned into a small woman and asked to be reunited with her parents Triton and Libya, and to dwell in the sea near Anaphe. Euphemus cast the clod overboard and from it rose an island, Calliste (now Santorini).
