Cedalion

"Of the Cleansing." A servant of the god Hephaestus. When Orion was blinded by King Oenopion of Chios for attacking his daughter Merope, he went to Lemnos where he received Cedalion from Hephaestus to be his guide. Carrying Cedalion on his shoulders, the youth guided Orion and led him to Helios who restored his sight.
