Eileithyiae

The daughters of Hera, the goddess of marriage. They were being kept away by Hera to delay to birth of Heracles, thus robbing him of the empire Zeus had intended for him.

A sanctuary of the Eileithyiae was at Megara. See also Eileithyia (singular).
