He was the father of Jökull ("Glacier"), who was the father of Snær the Old ("Snow"). Snær had a son, Þorri ("Frozen snow"), and three daughters, Fönn ("Snowdrift"), Drífa ("Snowfall") and Mjöll ("Powdered snow"). Kári's son Jökull is called Frosta ("Frost") in Fundinn Noregr.
