Mamari

One of the canoes in which the ancestors of the Māori people came from Hawaiki to New Zealand. The Ngapuhi state that their ancestors came in this canoe, and that it was the vessel of Nuku-tawhiti. The people on board were supposed to be but one family. Relics (of stone) of this vessel are to be found near Hokianga.
