Mimas

One of the Gigantes who, during the Gigantomachy, lifted up the island of Lemnus, including Hephaestus' forge, and was about to hurl it at Ares when the latter's javelin struck him in the head. Athena then used the head of Medusa to turn the Gigante into stone.1 He was said to be the worst among his peers.2

According to Apollodurus,3 he was killed by Hephaestus who threw molten iron at him. The island of Prochyte, near Sicily, was believed to rest upon his body.4
