Parawera-nui

The personified form of the (cold) south wind, a child of Huru-te-arangi and Tonga-nui-kaea. She mated with Tāwhiri-mā-tea and gave birth to the Wind Children, the Whanau-puhi. See also Hurunuku-atea, Tahu-mawake-nui, and Tahu-makaka-nui.
