Volumnia

The consort of Coriolanus, a legendary military leader of early Rome. When Coriolanus marched his army against Rome, Volumnia and her two little sons went with Veturia and the other matrons to the enemies' camp to plead with him to end the siege. They were successful in their appeal and Coriolanus withdrew his legions from Roman territory.
