Arthur's dog. The legend of his paw-print in Buelt may be confused with other examples of this footprint motif where the animal who leaves the print is actually Arthur's horse. The named may be derived from the Latin caballus which means "horse."

In some accounts the hound took part in the hunt for the Twrch Trwyth or Ysgithyrwyn.
