Hine-moana

"Ocean Maid." Ocean Maid, a personified form of the ocean, a daughter of Tāne, and wife of Kiwa. She would engulf canoes if tapu had been broken during their construction, unless they were protected by the other gods. Their realm is guarded by Kaukau and Te Arawaru. The offspring of Hine-moana consisted of shellfish and seaweed of many species.
