Kaukau

Kaukau, Kiwa, and Takaaho were appointed guardians of the ocean and dwell in the "house" Tahora-nui-atea, and ever guard the bounds of Hine-moana. The offspring of Kakau and Te Arawaru, cockles and other mollusks, were placed with Hine-one to be cared for by her.
