The Spoils of Annwfn

A short Welsh poem in the Llyfr Taliesin ("Book of Taliesin"). It is an enigmatic text that describes an expedition by Arthur and three boatloads of his followers to a city (presumably representing the underworld) where he obtains a magical, talismanic cauldron in the custody of nine maidens. Only seven survive this perilous expedition. The cauldron itself is finished with pearl and will not cook a coward's food.
