Perilous Chapel

A chapel that has been taken over by the sorcerer Hellawas, in order to entrap Lancelot. While riding through the forest, Lancelot encounters the knight Sir Meliot de Logres, who is mortally wounded and whose bleeding can be staunched only with a piece of the shroud of the dead knight interred in the Perilous Chapel. Despite many harrowing adventures, Lancelot obtains a small piece of the shroud and returns to heal the wounded Meliot.

The Perilous Chapel appears in Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur (book iv).
