Galehaut

In the Vulgate Cycle, the Prince of the Lointaines Isles, of Surluse, and the Scillies. He is one of Arthur's earliest foes, invading his kingdom when Arthur refuses to yield to him. Galehaut is a friend and confidant of Lancelot and arranges the latter's first clandestine meeting with Guinevere.

Later, when Galehaut is seriously ill and hears the false rumors of Lancelot's death, he becomes so weakened and dismayed that he dies. Lancelot buries his friend not only in his castle, but also in his personal tomb.
